David T. Benson

David T. Benson, lifelong resident of East Bridgewater, died on April 16, 2020 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late Sandra (Nilsson) and Per Benson. 

David was born and raised in East Bridgewater, where he was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School. After High School, he enlisted in the Air Force, and served during the Korean Conflict.  After discharge he went to work at the Brockton Edison in the collections department until his retirement. He met and married Mary Fontinha in the summer of 1959.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He enjoyed wildlife, history, and gardening.  David loved to read, especially articles and non fiction books about the outdoors and historical accounts. He was a member of the NRA, the Audubon Society, and the Trappers Association. He was a conservationist.

David was the loving husband of the late Mary (Fontinha) Benson. Father of Karen Anderson and her husband Paul of Pembroke. He was predeceased by his brothers:  Norman Benson, Harry Benson and Forrest Benson Grandfather of Tim Anderson, his wife Amie of Brooklynn NY, Joshua Anderson his wife Amy of Litchfield NH, Laura Anderson of Avon CO. Great Grandfather of Brooklynn, and Charlotte Anderson. He had numerous nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews

Due to COVID-19, all services for David will be held privately. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
