Dean J. Fackos

1955 ∼ 2019

Dean J. Fackos passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019 at the age of 63, due to complications after being diagnosed with cancer. He was born in Wareham, MA; the son of Catherine T. (Tsiknas) Fackos and the late John J. Fackos.

Dean is survived by his mother Catherine T. (Tsiknas) Fackos, his daughter, Serena Fackos Setzer, son-in-law Joe Setzer, niece Zoe Klumph, brother-in-law, John Klumph and his four-legged companion Franny. He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Fackos, his aunt Frances T. (Tsiknas) Vallone, sister, Leah F. Klumph and his beloved dog Franky.

Dean graduated from Falmouth High School and, later in life continued his education, receiving degrees from both Cape Cod Community College and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He enjoyed, and found success in, the hospitality industry; where he wore many hats throughout his career. He was also a man who seized the day, like developing his taste for wine as a wine salesman for L. Knife and Son or when his love of windsurfing led him to open a shop.

A lover of animals, travel and the finer things in life, Dean’s true passions were behind a drum set and in the kitchen. He loved drumming. A very talented musician, he even performed with the band Orleans on their tracks “Dance with Me" and “Still the One" and played the southeastern leg of one of their tours. Dean also had a passion for cooking and wasn’t modest about the fact he was excellent at it. Even as his health began to fail, he still found joy in both these things.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 17th at 1pm in St. Barnabas Memorial Chapel, 97 Main Street, Falmouth, MA. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Falmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends Of Falmouth Dogs, P.O. Box 438, Falmouth, MA 02541 or
