Diane M (Beckloff) Kolar

Diane Margaret (Beckloff) Kolar, 74, of Shalimar, FL, and formerly a long time Cape resident, passed away on November 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the daughter of the late Allen and Leila (Schauss) Beckloff, and wife of the late James Kolar.  She is survived by her daughter, Samantha (Kolar) Mindel and her husband Ken of Niceville, FL (both formerly of Centerville, MA), and her beloved grandchildren, Cory and Kayla, who were the light of her life.  She is also survived by her brother Pete Beckloff and sister-in-law (and best friend) Carol of Hyannis, and her nephew, Adam Beckloff and his wife Terry of West Yarmouth.

Family was the most precious thing to Diane, and the love and support they all showed her over the years was priceless to her.  She was thrilled to have the opportunity to travel around the world to visit her daughter and family, and proud of their dedication to the military.  She was also so glad to be able to spend the last year living in Florida just a few miles from them; enjoying the sunshine and palm trees. Her very happiest moments were those spent with her grandchildren, and the shopping trips, cooking, fun traditions, and goofy times they had together will live on forever in their hearts.

Diane enjoyed cooking, shopping, and making everyone laugh.  During her life, she most often worked in the healthcare field, but was also an interior decorator, owned a restaurant, and even trained dolphins.  She was always helping others no matter what she did.  She loved all animals, including her furry companion, Ruby, who will now live with her daughter and family.

A private graveside service was held.  In her honor, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
