Dianne Rachel Desruisseaux

Dianne R. Desruisseaux of Dennis, passed away June 22nd surrounded with the love and support of her family.

Dianne was born on November 4th, 1948 in Eagle Lake, Maine to the late Reneau and Jacqueline (Michaud) Bouchard.

Dianne graduated Sacred Heart High School in 1966 and continued her education at Cape Cod Community College where she graduated in the school's first nursing program.

After graduating from Cape Cod Community College, she entered the field of Nursing where she worked at the Cape Cod Hospital, retiring in 2013 after an incredible 44 years of nursing.

While working at the Cape Cod Hospital, Dianne committed herself to not only providing the best patient care but to also being an advocate for all the nurses in her position as a Vice Chairwoman of the MNA local union. After retiring, Dianne continued to work part-time in Dr. David Brown's office as an Infusion Nurse.

Dianne enjoyed cooking her wonderful meals and baking her rich desserts. There wasn't a person who didn't love her Christmas cookie platter, whoopie pies and famous fudge. She had a special talent for gardening and her gardens always flourished. She could be found sitting on the beach with a book, traveling, kayaking or reading tarot cards. She was an active parishioner at the St. Pius X church in Yarmouth. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. There was nothing more important to her than being with her grandchildren. They will forever have memories of her singing "You Are My Sunshine", playing games, making fairy houses, collecting seashells, going to the movies and having sleepovers. She also cherished her time spent with her book and game clubs.

Dianne is best known for her selfless actions. She was always taking care of others including her volunteer services at Saint Joseph's House in Hyannis. Anyone that met Dianne would be welcomed with open arms. She became a second mom to her sons' friends and "Memere" to others.

Dianne is proudly survived by her beloved sons, David and Gene Desruisseaux, Gene's wife, Jennifer Desruisseaux, her four grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Leah and Jacob, which were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her brother Paul Bouchard, sister Joyce Baldasaro (Bouchard) and brother-in-law John Baldasaro, her nieces and nephews Matt Baldasaro and his wife Lara, Monique Nasiff (Baldasaro) and her husband David as well as Melissa, Kim and Randy Bouchard and her closest friends Pat and Peg Raymond.
