Donald C. “Donnie” Hallett

Osterville – Donald C. “Donnie” Hallett, 72, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born on September 15, 1946 in Barnstable, he was the son of the late Alcott Nathan Hallett and Jean (Gossman) Gardner.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife Pamela Hallett, son Zachary Donald Hallett, daughter Danielle Marie Lamminen and beloved granddaughter Hannah Danielle Lamminen who was the light of his life; Sam Rivera Jr. and his son Jorah Martinez Rivera; brothers Robert Nathan Hallett (Kathleen) and David Bruce Hallett (Laurel). Donnie was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by many close friends and extended family members.
Donnie graduated from Barnstable High School in 1964. While a student there, he served as captain of the basketball team and was the school javelin record holder in track and field for 20 years. All of this, while maintaining his class title “Most Handsome”. He then served in Vietnam with the US Army from January 1966 to October 1967. After his service in the military, Donnie split his time between the Cape and Palm Beach, FL where he bartended at various restaurants. In 1981, Donnie married Pam and they settled in Osterville. Donnie pursued his passion of cars and property by opening his own used car business and investing in real estate.
Donnie was an accomplished athlete with a passion for participating in sports as well as being a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He had many interests which included decoy collecting, fishing and boating. Donnie was a quick wit with an amazing sense of humor. He was held in the highest regard by everyone who knew him. He was loyal, loving and above all a family man who loved his family with all of his heart.
Funeral Services will be held at Osterville Baptist Church, 824 Main Street, Osterville, MA on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. A gathering of friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service to begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery on Old Mill Road, Osterville.
