Donald M. Woodland, 69 of Chatham passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 20, 2020. He was the loving husband of Bonnie (Colwell) Woodland.
Don was born in Mineola New York to the late Wilbur and Marion Woodland. As a child, he spent many summers in Orleans at the family cottage. Don graduated High School in Port Washington, NY and later graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Radio/Television Communications. Don was best known on Cape Cod as the Publisher of Vitality Magazine from 1988-2018.
Don was very active and loved to learn, especially about history, religion and politics. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage. As a drummer, he enjoyed music and at one time led the Don Woodland Band. He and Bonnie liked to travel and share adventures together. He was a man of great convictions and would share them with others often. One of his greatest pleasures was sharing and discussing movies with friends.
Don recognized the importance of spiritual development and instilled this in his children Robert and Sarah. He was a loving father, husband, and patriot who truly loved his family and country. He was very proud of his son and loved to watch his grandchildren play as he often commented on how sweet they all are.
Don was predeceased by his daughter Sarah in 1995. In addition to Bonnie, he is survived by his son Robert and his wife Margaret and their six beautiful children: Isaiah, Jacob, Levi, Caroline, Ben and Lydia all of Harwich. He is also survived by his sister Wendy, her husband Donald Seymour of Plymouth and several nieces & nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Alan and sister in law Carol.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Route 137 in East Harwich on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2 pm. Masks and social distancing will be in effect.
