Doris Ann Pennington

Doris Ann Pennington, 92, of West Wareham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 4, 2017.  Mrs. Pennington was the loving wife of Henry B. Pennington.

Mrs. Pennington, the daughter of the late Elmire (Gagnon) Pires and Peter Pires, was born in Wareham, Massachusetts on November 3, 1924.  Mrs. Pennington worked for 38 years as a solderer for Cornel-Dubilier Electronics in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  She enjoyed  spending time with her family and friends, dancing, gardening, cooking and keeping a warm and loving home - which she did to perfection.

Survivors include her husband, Henry B. Pennington of West Wareham, daughter, Janice L. Ellis of West Wareham and granddaughter, Danielle M. Ellis-Andrews of San Francisco, California.  Mrs. Pennington was predeceased by her siblings, the late Amanda Bearse, Matilda Rose, Mary Andrade, Alice Texiera, Armand Pires, Lucien Pires, William Pires, Wilfred Pires, Maurice Pires and Roland Pires.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, located at 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rte 28) in Wareham, Massachusetts.  Mrs. Pennington’s funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church located at 82 High Street, Wareham, Massachusetts. at 10:00 a.m.  The interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
