Doris Helen Perkins

1923 ∼ 2019

Doris H. Perkins, 95, of Mashpee, formerly of Bridgewater and Holbrook, passed away peacefully at JML Care Center on January 6, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late George M. Perkins and daughter of the late John and Marie Goddard.

Doris graduated from Revere High School class of 1940. She worked as a hairdresser for many years until she married the love of her life George. She and her husband raised 2 wonderful sons. She was an extraordinary craftswoman, loved gardening, enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes, and was an amazing woman to have a conversation with. She was also an animal lover, especially dogs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Doris is survived by 2 sons, Donald Perkins and wife Beverly of Bridgewater, Kenneth Perkins and wife Judith of Hillsboro, NH, 4 grandchildren, Curtis, Nicholas, Kerrie, Kathleen, 5 great grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, Nathan, Connor, Chelsea, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Goddard and her sister Phyllis Hallisey.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the JML Care Center for the loving Care and support for Doris and her family at such a difficult time.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave (Rte 151) Mashpee on Thursday January 10, 2019 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Cape Cod 434 Route 134 South Dennis, MA 02660 or to the Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, 884 County Road, Pocasset, MA 02559.
