Dorothy A. (Sollitto) Hiltz

Dorothy Anne (Sollitto) Hiltz, 83, of Mashpee and formerly of Roslindale and Sudbury, MA passed away on January 3, 2019 at Cape Cod Hospital.

Dottie was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Sollitto. She was a 1954 graduate of Girls Latin School and a 1958 graduate of Boston College. Dottie taught at Burr Elementary School in Newton, MA for 40 years. Her faith was of the utmost importance to her. She was a devoted communicant of Christ the King Church in Mashpee where she was a lector, member of the Pastoral Council, Parish Life Chair, Catholic Women’s Club, coordinator of MOMS, Wedding coordinator and she was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Dottie was also a proud BC alum who served on many boards.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John G. Hiltz, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Kathleen M. Gage (Don), Kenneth W. Hiltz (Meg) and John G. Hiltz, Jr.; grandchildren, Mark, Parker, Ethan, Killian, Carma, Cameron and  Jordan; brother, Joseph E. Sollitto, Jr. and his wife Kathleen; Godsons, Brian Coughlan and David Galusi; she is also survived by many dear relatives and loyal friends. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10 AM at Christ the King Church, 3 Job’s Fishing, Mashpee. Interment will be held privately and at a later date.
