Dorothy Garner-Loukas

Dorothy Garner-Loukas of Barnstable, passed away on January 7, 2018 following a brief illness. She was 89.   

Dorothy was born in Albania and came to this country as a young girl.  She grew up in

Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Garner.  Dorothy and Joe had three children Pegge, Robert and John. For a number of years Dorothy and Joe operated California Market, in Brockton, MA.

Subsequently, Dorothy worked for Dole and Bailey Food Suppliers. After her retirement she married Peter Loukas of Clearwater, Florida. 

Dorothy had a great sense of style, was a wonderful cook and an avid reader.  Her love and             dedication to her family was evident in all that she did.  Dorothy was particularly devoted to her son Robert and was his lifelong advocate.  Her grandson, Jack, was the light of her life

She is survived by her daughter Pegge of East Sandwich, her son John and his wife Chris of Barnstable, her son Robert of Yarmouthport and her grandson Jack.  She was predeceased by her second husband Peter Loukas.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Cotuit on Thursday, January 11 at 11 am.  Receiving hours will be prior to the mass from 10-11 in the church.  Burial will be private.
