Dorothy M. “Dottie” Walker

Centerville- Dorothy Margaret (Ledbetter) Walker, 87 of Centerville, MA, known as Dottie by family and friends, passed away on January 7, 2021. Born June 20, 1933 in Boston to Alfred and Martha Ledbetter. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Lenny who died in 2019.  Also predeceased by her brother Alfred Ledbetter Jr.  Dottie was raised in South Boston and Hyde Park MA and spent summers visiting Cape Cod where she met Leonard at Otis Air Force Base. They married in 1954, had 2 daughters and moved to Centerville in 1970. Dottie's greatest joy in life was her family. She especially enjoyed the times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dottie rarely missed a sporting or school event and was known as Gramma to everyone. She enjoyed time spent with her club girls, traveling and camping trips with her family and Sunday breakfast with her Lenny. Dottie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her big generous heart and her witty sense of humor. She was admired for her sass and being a straight shooter. Dottie is survived by her sister Carol Connors of Braintree MA and her daughters, Paula Richard and husband Bill of Mansfield and Mary Ellen White and husband Buzzy of Centerville. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Matthew White and his wife Cailin of Osterville, Luke White and his wife Kelly of Hyannis, Ryan White of Honolulu HI, and Elizabeth D'Olimpio and husband Justin of Denver, England, and great grandchildren Emma, Casey, Livia, Mayah, Adam, Brett, Walker and Elowen and many nieces and nephews.  In remembrance of Dottie, please consider reaching out and extending a kind act for someone in need.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
