Douglas G. Reilly

Douglas G. Reilly, 83, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on June 26th.

Doug was the loving son of the late Carl Reilly and Blanche (Arsenault) Reilly, and grew up in Cambridge. After graduating from The Cambridge Rindge High School he married Christina MacKenzie on Sept 29th, 1956 and the two would live in Somerville before moving to Bridgewater in 1970 where they raised their children. Doug was a proud member of  Pipefitters, Local 537 Boston Mass, and was a member for 59 years. Doug worked as a foreman and project manager in the greater Boston area. He was a longtime member of the Citizens Club and enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards, reading  and sipping a nice scotch. He was an animal lover who referred to cats as, “good people”.

Doug was proud of his Irish and Cape Wolfe, PEI heritage, traveling to both countries many times.

Christina and Douglas had four children Carl D. Reilly of AZ, Allen S. Reilly and his wife Terry of Plymouth, Jason W. Reilly of Assonet, and Lisa Reilly Abney and her husband Michael of Dennis. He was the grandfather of Michael, Jessica, Sarah, MacKenzie, Matthew, Dylan, Neil, Erin, and “Great Grandpa” of Shaelynn, Jack, Reilly, Alexis, Connor, and Anthony. Brother of the late Phyllis R. Pike and Joyce R. Roberts. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

All are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater MA on Sun. July 1st. A visitation period will be held from 3-6pm with a short service starting at 6pm.
