Dr. Charles Farrell Gallaway

Dr. Charles Farrell Gallaway, 91, of Mashpee formerly of Westwood, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Mary C. Gallaway and son of the late Charles H. and Sadye Gallaway.
Farrell graduated from Monson Academy. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Farrell also graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors Degree. He ultimately received his Doctor of Optometry at Massachusetts College of Optometry. He owned and operated his own practice in Randolph for over 50 years before retiring to Cape Cod. He was past president of the Rotary Club and member of the Elks Lodge in Randolph. He was also a parishioner at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee. Farrell enjoyed sailing, fishing and loved to travel especially with his wife Mary. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Mary of 46 years, Farrell is survived by 6 children, Sharyn L. Gallaway and husband James Rozes of NJ, Bruce F. Gallaway of PA, Joeanna Gallaway of Kingston, MA, C. Jeffrey Gallaway of PA, Margaret Ann Loring and husband Edward of Rockland, MA, J. Colin Gallaway and wife Mary Ann of PA, his brother David Gallaway of PA, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Christ the King Church 3 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee on Thursday July 12, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00am. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00am. A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Farrell to Christ the King Parish P.O. Box 1800 Mashpee, MA 02649.
