E. Joanne Statires

E. Joanne (Menaxopoulos) Statires, 76 of West Yarmouth Passed away peacefully on July 4, 2020.  She was the loving wife of the late Nickolas Statires.

Joanne worked for the Department of Public Health in Boston for eighteen years before retiring to her home in West Yarmouth in 2003.  As an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Centerville, she was involved in Ladies Philoptochos, Seniors of St. George and their Annual Grecian Festival.

Joanne is survived by her sister Sophia Menaxopoulos of West Yarmouth, her cousin Alexander Sevdinoglou and his family in Long Island, NY and many relatives in Greece.  She was predeceased by her sister H. Lillian Santis.

Visitation will be at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Centerville on Wednesday, July 8th at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am.  Burial will be on Thursday, July 9th at Noon at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd. Centerville, MA 02632.
