Edith M. Mazzarini

Edith M (Delaney) Mazzarini of South Yarmouth, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital on September 30, 2020 with family at her side. She is survived by her husband Salvatore F Mazzarini. They were married on September 29, 1951 at St Mary’s Church in Waltham MA.

Edith was born on March 2, 1929 to Bernard A. Delaney Sr. and Elizabeth (Flaherty) Delaney. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in 1947 and Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. Early in her career she worked at Grover Cronin’s in Waltham in retail sales then to Raytheon as secretary to design engineers. After raising her family, Edith went back to work as an executive assistant at Bay Bank Inc in Waltham MA where they worked in the early development of ATMs

In retirement years Edith belonged to the St Pius the X Women’s Society along with The garden club of Yarmouth. She loved needlework, knitting reading cookbooks and traveling

In addition to her husband Salvatore she leaves a daughter, Lyn A. Copenhaver of Franklin MA and was predeceased by a son Mark F. Mazzarini  of Waltham MA,. Edith also leaves a granddaughter Megan E. Copenhaver of Boylston, MA. , a sister Judith Sandra Steede of Confluence, PA and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Bernard A. Delaney Jr., of San Diego, CA., James F. Delaney of Milford, CT., and Lois A. Bartkus of Littleton, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 5th from 4-6 PM at the Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond dr., South Yarmouth. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 6th at 11 AM at Saint Pius X church, Station Ave South Yarmouth followed by burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery.

Gifts in Edith’s memory may be made to Relay for Life or to the St. Pius X Women’s Society, 5 Barbara St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664
