Edward “Big Ed” R. Walsh

1936 ∼ 2017

Edward R. “Big Ed” Walsh, 81, of Cotuit, died on August 8, at Falmouth Hospital. Born in Arlington, MA, son of the late James & Margaret (Shannon) Walsh. Loving husband of 61 years to Jacqueline (McCarty) Walsh of Cotuit.

Ed attended Northeastern University and worked for 39 years for the Town of Arlington as a Civil Engineer until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Nancy Angelo (Francis) of E. Bridgewater, Karen DeZutter (David) of Whitman, Susan Nickerson of Kingston, Cathleen MacDonald (William) of Abington, Linda Colameco (Jeffrey) of Sandwich, Michael Walsh of Norwood. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, a sister, Mary Dodge of Arlington, and the late Rev. James P. Walsh SJ.

Ed enjoyed watching baseball and hockey.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday August 13, 2017 from 2 – 5 PM in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Route 28, Marstons Mills, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 14, 2017 at 10AM in Christ the King Church, Jobs Fishing Road, Mashpee, MA. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
