Edward J. Murphy of Bridgewater died March 4, 2017 in the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in FL at the age of 74 after a brief illness. Eddie was born in Brockton, son of the late Ruth (Simmons) and Edward Murphy. Mr. Murphy was raised and educated in  Brockton, MA ,  Eddie married his childhood sweetheart, Lynette (Turski) Murphy. The two were married for over 47 years and raised three children in Bridgewater.  Eddie retired from the Bridgewater Fire Department as Captain after 31 years of services. Eddie enjoyed spending time with his friends from the Brockton Wheels of Time Classic Car Club. Through the club, he met many wonderful friends whom he traveled extensively with  displaying his award winning 1956 Oldsmobile.  Eddie enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  After retiring he enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter and spending time with his family in Florida. 

Edward was the loving father of Lori A Murphy ,  Dawn M. Nedell  and Steven E. Murphy ; proud and loving grandfather  of Maegan, Adam , Julia and Addison; Brother of Robert and Paulette Murphy of Port St Lucie Florida, and the late Kenneth Murphy and  Michael Murphy, brother in law  of Roger A. Turski of East Bridgewater.  Eddie is also survived and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday April 15th in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater at 10:00am.
