Edward Kelley, of Centerville, MA, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 peacefully at home and is no doubt now enjoying a ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’. Kelley, better known to his family & friends as ‘Kelley Mon’, was born and raised in Brighton, Massachusetts to Joseph Kelley and Mary Corliss. Kelley graduated from Boston University with a degree in History and shortly thereafter moved to Manhattan Beach, CA where he acquired his commercial pilot ratings while fueling airplanes. His pilot career began at Hyannis Aviation before he moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL and worked for Aerocoach International Airways and Gull Air. Kelley returned to New England when Gull Air closed and began working as a line pilot for Nantucket Airlines, which later became Cape Air. He truly loved to fly and was a member of the Ancient and Sacred Order of Quiet Birdmen as well as the Boston Hangar. Not only did Kelley love sailing through the skies, but he also loved sailing the seas, particularly in ‘One Particular Harbor’ on his boat, the “Ya Mon”. An avid Ban De Soleil user, Kelley maintained a year-round tan and truly embraced the island lifestyle driving his red Camaro & listening to Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley & the Beach Boys. Kelley married his ‘Brown Eyed Girl,’ Maureen Supka, on September 17, 2011; Kelley loved her more than the Red Sox, the Patriots, and the Miami Dolphins combined, which is really saying something.
Kelley leaves behind his selfless wife, Maureen, of Centerville, MA, his mother-in-law Mary Michael of Centerville, MA, his brother-in-law Kevin (Terri) Supka of Meadowbrook, PA, his niece Caitlin (Robert) Raimondo of Newtown, PA, his niece Bridget Supka of New York, NY, his brother-in-law James (Lisa) Supka of Cotuit, MA, his nephew Zachariah Supka of Cotuit, MA, and his cousins Karen Fox of Andover, MA, Kathy Corliss of Andover, MA, Maureen Fitzpatrick of Westwood, MA, Michael Corliss of Andover, MA and Annie Osborne of Portsmouth, NH. Kelley is also survived by his four furry girls - Maggie the Cavapoo, Maisey, Daisy & Esther the kittens, as well as many, many friends!
