Born in Lexington MA on October 17, 1933 to Warren Burgess and Florence (Hawley) Burgess.  Eleanor grew up in Lexington and Arlington MA, eventually moving to Acton and finally to Yarmouth in 1973.  She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Joseph L. Eleanor and Joe traveled extensively exploring many places in the US and abroad from Morocco to Scotland.  Her favorite places were Ireland and Nova Scotia where she has cherished family.  Eleanor was an incredible home-maker, her generous hospitality will not be forgotten.  Her most memorable times were spent visiting with family and friends, playing games and sharing stories.  One of her favorite pass times was riding her lawn mower with Joe at their home in Maine.

Eleanor is also survived by her brothers Warren Burgess and wife Mary of Nashua, NH and Robert Burgess and his wife Barbara of Ocala, Florida.  Her daughters Mary Carroll and Diane Lawler, her husband Nicholas Lawler all of Yarmouth; eight Grand Children and four Great Grand Children.  Eleanor had many special friends that she called family and will be terribly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
