Elizabeth E. Halstead

Elizabeth “Betty” E. Halstead, 88 of Falmouth formerly of Norwood passed away on November 7, 2020 after a period of declining health.

Betty was born on September 17th 1932 ,in  Newton, MA.

Betty retired from Verizon, formerly New England Telephone in December 1991. She was an Avid Boston sports fan, especially her Boston Bruins of which she was a season ticket holder for many years. Betty grew up in Norwood Mass. and graduated from Norwood High School in 1950. Moved to Falmouth in 1971, and made it her home.

She is survived by her children, Debra (John) Lynch of Mashpee, MA, Richard (Roseanna) Halstead, E. Falmouth, MA, Cheryl (John) Hankinson, Leland, NC, Joseph Halstead, Frank Halstead, Judy Halstead and Tracey Halstead all of E. Falmouth, MA. Loving Grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Also survived by her sister Jane Burke of Marrero, LA., and brother-in-law David Ryan.  She was predeceased by her sister Virginia Ryan, Brother-in-law Michael Burke, Sr. and granddaughter Heather Rose.  She will be missed by many.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Chapman, Cole and Gleason, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, MA.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Nov 16, 2020 in St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main St. Falmouth, MA. Burial will be private.
