Elizabeth “Luisa” Oakley

Elizabeth “Luisa” Oakley 67, Wareham died peacefully September 30, 2018 after a long illness. She is survived by her father Julio Jimenez, loving husband of 40 years Richard Oakley, children Melissa Ferretti and husband Anthony Ferretti, Harry Harding and his fiancé Jasmine Dillree, Seven Grandchildren Daniel and John Hannigan, Dylan Close, Hunter, Caden, Sienna and Izabella Harding and one girl to come, three great grandchildren Ava, Danny and Landon Hannigan, four sisters Melanie Lee Cahoon Dunn, Daryll Cahoon Perry, Mita Jimenez, Marylyn Jimenez, brother Julio Jimenez and her lifelong sisters Joanne Barboza, June Tiexeira and her husband Chuck Green, many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Haskell, Papa Ray Haskell and her daughter Brenda Harding, mother in law Hazel Oakley and husband Wilbur.

Luisa was born in Pennsylvania and attended Wareham schools. She proudly worked for the Mashpee Police Department dispatch for 16 years. Luisa enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her trips to Puerto Rico to be with her family there. Her children being members of the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe and her husband Richard a respected elder of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, Luisa was a lover and teacher of all things Native American.

Visiting hours will be held at Chapman Cole and Gleason on Rte. 151 Mashpee Friday October 5, 2018 from 3 PM to 5 PM and immediately following a collation will be held at the Mashpee Rod and Gun Club, 8 South Sandwich Rd., Mashpee. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Wampanoag Burial Fund C/O of June Tiexeira, 137 Meetinghouse Rd., Mashpee, MA 02649.
