Ellen M. Blackden

Ellen M. (Weatherby) Blackden, 56, of Middleboro and formerly of West Bridgewater passed away suddenly at home on September 7, 2017.  She was the daughter of the late Wendell and Norma (Colburn) Weatherby.

Ellen was born and raised in West Bridgewater.  She worked as a Senior Benefits Coordinator at Boston F.D.S.  She loved arts and crafts, dancing, and music, especially blues and Jazz.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Jessica Blackden and her husband Timothy of Holbrook; loving grandmother of Drew and Abigail; her sister, Denise Low and Michael of Taunton; her two brothers, Alton Weatherby and his wife Sherrie of Taunton and Wayne Weatherby and his wife Judith of New Hampshire.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Ellen was predeceased by her sisters, Wanda Eveline and Wendy Weatherby.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.  Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM prior to the service.

There will be a gathering at The Polish Club located at 127 Spring St., Bridgewater immediately after the service until 12:00 AM. 

Donations may be made in Ellen’s memory to Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, 1300 West Elm Street Ext, Brockton, MA 02301.
