Evelyn G. Cormier

Evelyn Genevieve (Vincent) Cormier, 93, of Mashpee died at home on July 26, 2018.  She was the daughter of Bernard and Mary Araujo of Onset.  She was predeceased by her husband Alcide J. Cormier and her brother Bernard Araujo of Fitchburg.  She graduated from Fitchburg High School where she met the love of her life, Al. Most of their lives were spent on Cape Cod.

Much loved and greatly missed, she is survived by her sister Barbara Andrews of Onset, her brother Rome Tiexeira of Valencia, CA and her children Karen (Cormier) Parent & Bruce Parent, Alcide J. Cormier, Jr. & Jeannine Cormier, Glen Cormier & his partner Sarah Lebel, of Falmouth; Barbara (Cormier) Lennon of Mashpee; Paula (Cormier) Bachner & John “Chuck” Bachner, of Marblehead; Sandra Cormier & her husband Joseph Kenney of Wareham and Gregg Cormier of Sumter, South Carolina.

She loved spending time with her children, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild and looked forward to the many family gatherings in her home. Evelyn loved music, dancing and was an avid reader. 

Visiting hours will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), Mashpee.  A Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Parish, 3 Job’s Fishing Rd., Mashpee on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
