Everett B. Tufts, Jr.

Everett B. Tufts, Jr. of West Bridgewater passed away on December 2, 2019 at the age of 92 after a period of declining health. Born in 1927, he was the son of the late Everett B. Tufts, Sr. and Belle (Burnham) Tufts of Bridgewater, MA.

Mr. Tufts met the love of his life, Barbara on the dance floor and married a few years later in 1952.

Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years by IBM.

Mr. Tufts was always smiling.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Nothing made him happier than being with his family.  He enjoyed dancing, skating, skiing, lumberjacking, gardening, farming and traveling.  He loved the outdoors and would often take his family camping, hiking, skiing and skating.  As a young man you would often find him playing hockey in the winter.  After retirement, he traveled the world and took up figure skating which combined his love of dancing and skating.

Mr. Tufts was predeceased by his wife, Barbara A. (Dean), brother Lawrence Tufts of NH and grandson, David Burke of MA.

Family members include his three children, Susan Tufts of NH; David Tufts and wife Mary of MA and Karen Robbins and husband Daniel of MA.  He is survived by grandchildren, Michael Burke and his wife, Sandra of NH; Brian Burke and his wife, Jackie of, NH; Dillon and Samuel Tufts of MA and Christine Robbins of FL as well as four great-grandchildren, Cecelia and Josephine Burke of MA;  Charlotte Burke and Arianna Burke of NH.  He is also survived by his brother, John Tufts and wife Eleanor of MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
