Faye Estelle Pratt

Faye Estelle Pratt, of Centerville died on July 27th after declining health.

She was born in Pawtucket, Rl daughter of the late H. Lester and Estelle (Rushlow) Montgomery. The family moved from Pawtucket to Barrington, Rl where she attended Barrington Schools, graduating in 1946 as a member of both the National and Rhode Island Honor Societies. She was an active participant in school in sports, cheerleading, clubs, social committee, and was one of the two essayists at graduation.

She was married to the late Thomas C. Pratt, a former US Navy pilot, and they settled in Barrington and raised three children: Bonnie (Pratt) Filiault, of Centerville, MA; Bruce C. Pratt and his wife, Stephanie, of Sausalito, CA; Brian T. Pratt of Seneca, SC.; a brother, Ronald Montgomery of Oakton, VA, and a sister, Carol DeSousa of Barrington, Rl. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Cullen and her husband Marc, of Watertown; Brett Filiault of South Boston; Kelsey Pratt of Centerville; Cameron Pratt of San Diego, CA; Lauren Pratt of Mill Valley, CA; Boston and Skylar Rose Pratt of Sausalito, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

In Barrington, Mrs. Pratt was a charter member of the Barrington Junior Women's Club and was a member of the Barrington Congregational Church for over fifty years. She was employed by the Phoenix-Times newspaper group for 29 years, and served as an associate editor of the Barrington Times before being transferred to advertising sales. She retired in 1993. She was once secretary-treasurer of the Rl Press Association.

Mrs. Pratt moved to Centerville in August of 1993 to be close to her children and her grandchildren.

She finally had time to dabble in painting and writing, play bridge and was a member of the Barnstable North branch of the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary. She was a volunteer and part-time employee at the John F. Kennedy Museum in Hyannis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.

Services will be private and take place on what would have been her 90th birthday.
