Florence Ann “Flo” Benn, 91

YARMOUTH- Florence Benn, 91, passed away peacefully at Mayflower Place Nursing Center on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Benn and his wife Kate, as well her daughter-in-law Linda Benn, her grandchildren, Tyson Benn (wife Katie) and Ashley Mercier (husband Jon), and three great grandsons, all of whom she adored.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis E. Benn, and her son, Lewis E. Benn Jr.

Flo was born in Providence, RI on March 26, 1928. She married Lewis in Hudson, NH on September 3, 1948. They started their family in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, later moved to Dudley, MA and finally settled in South Yarmouth in 1963.

She took up golfing after her children started elementary school, later becoming a MA Amateur Ladies League champion golfer. Flo was passionate about playing Duplicate Bridge at the Yarmouth Senior Center and recently loved playing Bingo at Mayflower Place where she resided this past year. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Flo will be fondly remembered by her family for making her famous meatball recipe, Hungarian linzers and graham cracker cream pies.

Celebration of Flo’s life and her burial service will be private.
