Florence Pereira

1929 ∼ 2018

Florence Pereira, 88, of East Falmouth, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Born December 2, 1929 in Teaticket, MA, the daughter of Clement and Jesuiana (Amarel) Lino. She was predeceased by brothers, George, James and Walter Lino and sister, Dolores (Lino) Mayo. She was also pre-deceased, at an early age by her eldest son, Kenneth C. Gallion, Jr. of Williston FL.

She attended the Falmouth school system and was married to the late Kenneth C. Gallion in 1950, a member of the US Air force. She traveled the world with him, living in France, Germany, and the Philippine Islands. Her second marriage was to the late Damazo Pereira in 1977. After living in Inglis, FL, she returned to Cape Cod, living in Mashpee and Teaticket.

Flo, as she was called, loved working part-time in Falmouth at the Fashion Barn for 10 years. She loved keeping up with the news of the day and making sure nothing got by her when it came to her healthcare. She valued her privacy, liked playing Bingo and enjoyed her quiet time doing Word Search and playing Solitaire. Her favorite pastime was sitting at the Falmouth Harbor watching spring turn to summer then to fall. She valued her special friendships with long-time friends and will long be remembered for stating exactly how she felt about life in general.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Gallion) Keleher, and sons, Kevin Gallion and Gary Gallion, all of East Falmouth, and daughter-in-law, Larhesa Gallion of Williston, FL; and her sisters, Gladys Floyd of East Falmouth and Dorothy Payne of Crystal River, FL. She has seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Falmouth Senior Center, 300 Dillingham Ave, Falmouth MA  02540.
