Frances (Perkins) Kelleher, age 92, died peacefully at Falmouth Hospital on August 4, 2018 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen L. Kelleher Jr., in 1980. She was also predeceased by her sister, Florence Toomey, and brother, Paul Perkins. Frances was the daughter of Paul and Mildred Perkins of Seneca Falls NY.
Fond memories of Seneca Falls and Cayuga Lake remained ever present. Frances graduated from Mynderse Academy and Rochester Business Institute. After WWII, she and Stephen married and he resumed studies in engineering at Notre Dame. Later they moved to Greenfield MA where they raised 3 children. In 1971, they relocated to Cape Cod. The Kellehers enjoyed entertaining family and friends in their home at Old Silver Beach which became a popular destination. Frances had a love of theater and the arts. She was blessed with many talents including oil painting, ceramics, handcrafting heirloom vestamayd rugs, and playing violin and piano. She also enjoyed antiquing, playing bridge, water skiing, boating, swimming and hunting for sea glass on Old Silver.
Frances will be forever missed by her devoted family: her three children, Jean Kelleher of Bloomfield CT, Stephen L. Kelleher III and wife Mary of Mattapoisett MA, and Patricia Berkley and husband Gil of North Falmouth MA; her granddaughters Stephanie Burbine of South Deerfield MA, Kathy Gonzalez and husband Jonathan of South Dartmouth MA, and Laura Kelleher of Mattapoisett MA; her great-granddaughter, Amelia Frances Burbine, and newborn great-grandson, Elias Alexander Gonzalez; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00-6:00pm on Wednesday, August 8 at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Route 28A) in WEST Falmouth. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 9 in the funeral home, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Gifford St., in Falmouth.
