Fred E. Groehl Jr.

Fred E. Groehl Jr., 88, of Mashpee, formerly of Medway, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018. He was the beloved son of the late Fred Sr. and Beatrice Groehl.

Fred graduated from Medway High School class of 1947. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following service to his country, he graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Class of 1957. He worked as a pharmacist at Lampman’s Drug Store in Medway until his retirement.

Fred was a great listener and conversationalist. He loved the beaches of Cape Cod, watching sports, gardening, playing cards with family, and all animals, especially his beloved dog, Sly. He was a caring and faithful man, who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Fred is survived by many cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (Route 151) Mashpee on Monday May 7, 2018 from 9am to 10:30am. A funeral mass will follow at St. Jude’s Chapel in Christ the King Church 3 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Great Neck Woods Cemetery, Mashpee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Falmouth Dogs P.O. Box 438 Falmouth, MA 02541.
