George W. Johnson

George W. Johnson of South Yarmouth, Ma formally of Paxton, Ma passed away peacefully on June 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Worcester in 1930 in to the late Gustav and Catherine Johnson. He is pre-deceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.  He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Yvonne, three children, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Katie, and 2 grandchildren, Tucker and Reid.   

George proudly served our country during the Korean War and in the Army Reserves.  He invested much of his time later in life with the Korean War Veterans Association.

George spent the better part of his career in textiles with Crompton & Knowles Corporation, becoming an Executive Vice-President of International Sales.  George was able to visit over 100 countries during his lifetime and had so many wonderful stories to bring back to family and friends. 

Besides his dedication for the Korean War Veterans, George was an active member of Saint Pius X Church where he was a past President of Saint Vincent De Paul Society.  George had a passion for golf, the news, his pets, the beach, and meeting a stranger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 5 at 10 am at Saint Pius X, Station Ave., S. Yarmouth. Prior to the Mass, the family will receive family and friends from 8:30-9:30 at Morris, O’Connor & Blute, 58 Long Pond Dr, S. Yarmouth.  Internment immediately following at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne Ma.
