Gerard J. “Jerry” LaMontagne, 70, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Beverly, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Roland and Eileen LaMontagne. Jerry graduated from Beverly High School in the Class of 1965 and spent most of his young adult life as a proud member, then Drum Major with the St. Mary’s Cardinals Drum & Bugle Corps of Beverly.
He graduated from Bentley College in 1969 with a degree in accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant and throughout his career served in various accounting and executive finance positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Goddard Medical, and Boston Medical Center. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer at Centerline Communications. Additionally, from 1969-1974, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve’s 187th Battalion Company D Infantry Unit based in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Jerry loved his life on Cape Cod, where he enjoyed summers at Mashpee Lake on his boats “Six Pack” and “In a Minute,” attending his grandchildren’s many games and events, and cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams. His greatest love was his large and lively family to whom he was known as Gi.
Surviving him is his beloved wife, Rosanne; his brother, John and his wife, Karen LaMontagne of Georgetown, MA; his sister-in-law, Mary McGarry of Rockland, MA; six children and their spouses, Lisa and Scot MacGillivray of Hingham, MA; John and Jennifer LaMontagne of New York, New York; Nicole and Joshua Delman of East Sandwich, MA; Renee and Benjamin Delman of East Sandwich, MA; Brigitte and Joshua Heston of Sandwich, MA; and Peter & Coleen LaMontagne of Mashpee, MA; 17 grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, June 20, 4-7pm at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home at 74 Algonquin Avenue in Mashpee, MA. His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 21, 10am at Our Lady of Victory Church at 230 South Main Street in Centerville, MA.
