Gertrude M. “Trudy” Cooke (Barry) of Raynham passed away on August 4, 2018 after a short illness at the age of 84 surrounded by her loving family. Trudy was born in Brighton, MA to the late Gertrude A. (McCarthy) and Henry F. Barry. She grew up in Winchester, MA, graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Boston and Salve Regina College in Newport, RI. Trudy taught second grade in Middletown, RI and later was a substitute teacher for the Raynham Public Schools.
Trudy met her husband Ray while teaching in Newport. After Trudy and Ray married they settled in Raynham where they raised their three daughters. Trudy served on the board of Morton Hospital Women’s Auxiliary in Taunton, MA. She and Ray were past members of Segregansett Country Club in Taunton and enjoyed golfing, spending many years as ‘snowbirds’ at their vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Most importantly, Trudy loved spending time with family, especially her five grandchildren.
Wife of 58 years to Raymond R. Cooke of Raynham. Mother of Denise M. Cooke of Quincy, Karen A. Sullivan and her husband Paul F. of Plainville and Mary S. Phieffer and her husband Gregory G. of Bridgewater. Sister of David J. Barry and his wife Joan of Framingham, John D. Barry and his wife Anne of Burlington and the late Henry F. Barry, Jr. Grandmother of Meagan E. Sullivan, Kelsey A. Sullivan, Katherine L. Phieffer, Christopher R. Phieffer and Caroline R. Phieffer. Trudy is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church Raynham at 11:00am.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7pm.Burial in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
