Glenn E. Lowery

1937 ∼ 2019

Glenn E. Lowery, beloved husband of Carolyn (Lynn) Vizard Lowery, passed away at his home February 6, 2019.  He is survived by his devoted sons David A. Lowery (wife Cynthia Thomas), and Daniel G. Lowery of Harwich, MA.  Adored grandchildren Logan and Duncan Lowery will miss his presence in their lives.  Glenn is also survived by his loving sister Barbara Hughes of Pittsburgh, PA, nieces Cheryl (Kurt) Meissner of Pittsburgh, PA, and Alison (Neil) Warner of Oakton, VA, and many cousins.  Glenn was predeceased in death by his parents Scott and Dorothy Allen Lowery of New Castle, PA.

Glenn spent his career serving as an Administrator in various Community Hospitals.  He graduated from Muskingum University (Ohio) followed by a Masters in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota.  He was a First Lieutenant in the Army Reserve.

With a broad smile and a twinkle in his eye, Glenn lived a life that was defined by service.  Cape Cod benefited from his dedication as he served on the Board of Mid-Cape Church Homes (Pine Oaks), the Brewster Ladies Library, Pilgrim Congregational Church, and Millstone Village Homeowners Association.  He also gave back in volunteer time at the Oncology Department at Cape Cod Hospital and was a visitor at Broad Reach Care and Rehabilitation (Liberty Commons) with Connie, his companion and much-loved therapy dog.

A family graveside service was held at Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich, MA.  A memorial will be held April 6, 2019, at 11 AM at Pilgrim Congregational Church , Harwich Port, MA.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a contribution to Hospice of Cape Cod Healthcare  Brewster Ladies Library/Memory of Glenn Lowery,/Expansion fund Pilgrim UCC Church/Memory of Glenn Lowery
