Gordon Weeks

Gordon N weeks 67 passed away October 25 th 2018 under a Cape Cod harvest moon At home surrounded by family and friends , He was born in Hartford Ct to Harriet Hibbard Page Weeks and Douglas Frances Weeks And raised in Cheshire With his 3 brothers and horse Misty .

The weeks boys summered in Megansett and Scraggy Neck and filled their days With beetle cat sailing on Cape Cod Bay , surfing the lower Cape and snow skiing .

Gordon most loved surfing the waves of Eastham and Wellfleet at every opportunity , He later participated in the old timers surf contest often winning and socializing with old friends .

He attended Hawthorne College and went on to become a sales rep for all of New England for O’Neill Wet suits .

He pioneered the concept that water sports could extend year round and enjoyed more safely when a wet suit was worn . In 2007 he underwent a double lung transplant which extended his life 12 additional years so he could see his daughter Hadley graduate from high school and go on to college .

He leaves his wife Shauna Bailey weeks , beloved daughter Hadley brothers Stuart and Kathy Weeks of Weymouth , Ricky Weeks Of Eastham many nieces and nephews and dog Penny And brother Douglas weeks who predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday November 25 at 1:00 pm At the church of the Messiah in Woods hole . Donations may be made to The Duke lung transplant program C/0 Dr Scott Palmer Erwin rd Durham North Carolina
