Grace Fox Jordan, 95, of Bridgewater and formerly of Florida and Braintree died on October 9, 2017 at Life Care Center of Raynham. She was the loving wife of the late Stanley G. Jordan and daughter of the late Alphonse and Emily (Rowan) Fox.
Grace was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. After earning an RN at the Hackensack School of Nursing, Grace served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during WWII, where she was stationed at the Chabua, India military hospital. After the war, Grace attended the University of Vermont, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing and then taught nursing as an Instructor at the University. While in Vermont she met her husband Stan and they started their family.
In 1960 Grace and Stan moved to Braintree, Massachusetts, where they raised their five children. They had many good friends and were very active in the community. They retired to Winter Haven, FL, and traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. After 20 years, Grace and Stan moved back to Massachusetts where Grace spent her last 16 years near her loving family.
Grace was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Braintree and a lifelong member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization. She was very creative and spent her spare time knitting, sewing, and doing embroidery.
She is survived by her children, Wendy Lucia and her husband Jim of Bridgewater, William Jordan and his wife Renee of Wood Acre, California, Craig Jordan and his wife Kathy of Braintree, Scott Jordan and his wife Laurie of Hull, and David Jordan of Raynham; grandmother of Jared and his wife Renee, Adam and his partner Ashley, Colin and his partner Devyn, Meryl, Melanie and her partner Peter, Abby and her partner Ben, Drew and his partner Emily, Amelia and her husband Dan, Sam and his wife Daleen, and Nora and her partner Brian; beloved great grandmother of Benjamin, Jack, Max, Milo, River, and Ash. Grace is also survived by nieces Susan, Bonnie, Nancy, Linda and nephew Jay.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the kind and compassionate care provided by the staffs of Life Care Center and All American Assisted Living, both in Raynham.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Braintree, 12 Elm St., Braintree, MA 02184.
