Helga Rhind


Helga Rhind (Kuhlmey) of Avon, formerly of Scituate and Cohasset, MA, died August 3, 2018 at the age of 86. Helga was raised and educated in Berlin, Germany and came to the United States in 1953. 

Helga enjoyed classical music and was especially fond of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. She loved to garden, cook, read, crosswords, and never missed Jeopardy. She loved all animals and was known to take in many under her protective wing over the years.  She was an avid supporter of animal rights and protection.

Daughter of the late Erich Kuhlmey and Hildegard Kuhlmey (Papke) of Berlin, Germany. Wife of the late James M. Rhind. Mrs Rhind is survived by her brother Juergen Kuhlmey & his wife Margit of Sun City Center, Florida and her loving children, James E. Rhind & his wife Karen of Marshfield, Barbara A. Rhind & her fiancé Robert Tocchio of North Weymouth, and Jeffrey A. Rhind & his late wife Shannon of Bridgewater.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kate Tucker (Danico) of Delaware, James Erich Rhind Jr. of Marshfield, Jessica E. Rhind of Plymouth, Jeffrey A. Rhind Jr. of Bridgewater, and Natalya Rhind of Bridgewater and one great grandchild Danielle Dubois of Delaware and also her beloved basset hound, Mya.

A brief ceremony will be held at her inurnrment at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on August 14 at 11:15AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the MSPCA or any animal shelter of choice.
