Hildegard Maria Valentino

Hildegard Maria Valentino, of New Seabury, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, surrounded by family on May 13, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Albert S. Valentino and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich Raab.

Hildegard was born in the scenic countryside of Franconia, Germany and she graduated from Erlangen University in Furth with a degree in Nursing. Hildegard met Albert, her husband of sixty-six years, while he was stationed in Germany. After emigrating to the United States, she moved to Hingham with her husband where they raised their children, Mona Lisa and Dean. She was an avid gardener and loved volunteering at schools in her community. Most of all she cherished raising and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Hildegard’s favorite days were spent with family, cherishing special moments together. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her husband Albert, Hildegard is survived by her daughter Mona Lisa Valentino of New Seabury, her son Dean Valentino and wife Michelle of New York City, three grandchildren Christopher, Nicole, and Elena, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ingeborg Kral.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church 3 Job’s Fishing Rd. Mashpee, on Monday May 20, 2019 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Great Neck Woods Cemetery in Mashpee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Paul II High School 120 High School Rd, Hyannis, MA 02601.
