Ina G. Schlobohm

MASHPEE - Ina G. Schlobohm passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2020 surrounded by family.

Ina was born on June 8, 1930 in Wilkinsburg, PA. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Boston University in 1952. Ina raised a family of three loving children in Scarsdale, N.Y. Later on, she worked for Citibank in New York for 20 years until retiring in 2000.

In retirement, Ina moved close to South Cape Beach, her favorite place in the world. She loved to participate in sports. Ina was content living on Cape Cod, where she enjoyed the beach, bicycling, golf and her many friends.

Ina wanted to give back. She worked for the Town of Mashpee for 17 years, enjoying taking the meeting minutes for numerous town boards and committees and serving on the Board of the South Cape Beach Advisory Committee. She worked  at JML. She was on the Board for the Sea Quarters II Condominium Association in Mashpee, where she was recognized for listening well and giving good advice.

Ina was a happy person with a youthful outlook. She enjoyed her active life and her family and community involvement. She had a sparkling laugh and a beautiful smile. She was well liked wherever she went.

In her last days, her only concern was for her children. The world will miss this generous, loving soul.

Mom will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children, Starr F. Schlobohm, Jr. of Mashpee, MA, and Pamela K. Schlobohm of Santa Monica, CA. Ina was predeceased by her son Jeffrey R. Schlobohm; her ex-husband Dr. Starr F. Schlobohm, Sr.; and her sister Marjorie A. Rice. She will also be missed by her brother James R. Gorham; eight nieces and nephews; and her dear friends.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), Mashpee on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Social distancing, face masks and hand sanitizing are required.

Ina’s ashes will be scattered in a private service on the beach.
