J. William Metters, Jr., age 95, of Mashpee, MA, formerly of Attleboro and Mansfield, MA, passed away after a short illness on October 25, 2019. Born in Attleboro, MA on February 21, 1924 he was the son of the late J. William and Myra E. (Thomson) Metters, and the loving husband of Lillian (Drake) Metters, to whom he was married for seventy-one years.

A graduate of Attleboro High School and Northeastern University, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe from 1942 through 1945, and of the Korean Conflict. For many years, he and his father owned and operated an electrical contracting business in the Attleboro area.

In addition to his wife, Lillian, he is survived by his three sons and their wives: Bill and Cheryl of Harwich, MA, Steve and Lynne of N. Smithfield, RI, and Andrew and Maureen of North Attleboro, MA. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Byrne and Jessica Murray, both of Brewster, MA; and the great grandfather of Ashley hale, Kellie Byrne, and Emma Byrne.

Visiting Hours are omitted. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will be private.
