Jacob A. Peabody “Jake”

Jacob A. Peabody "Jake" of Taunton died tragically in a swimming accident in Plymouth July 24, 2020 at the age of 23.

Jake was born in Brockton and raised and educated in West Bridgewater, graduating from Bridgewater Raynham High School. Jake had been living in Taunton the past 2 and a half years where he moved from Bridgewater and was employed at Walt’s Service Station and Convenience Store on Route 138 in Taunton.

A self-taught guitar player, Jake was a lover of music. Being a strict vegan, he enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. Jake loved all things in nature. He spent many a day exploring all over New England with friends. He also was a very talented photographer and loved sharing his photos with all of us. By far, Jake was the most generous, helpful, and devoted young man, who was dearly loved by all who knew him.

Beloved son of Melissa A. Peabody of Taunton and the late Richard W. Isom. Brother of Nathan E. Peabody and Samantha M. Isom both of Taunton. Grandson of Elinor B. Peabody of West Bridgewater, and the late Charles E. Peabody. Godson and nephew of Julianne M. Crowley and Joseph K. Crowley, both of West Bridgewater. Having also many cousins, aunts, and uncles, Jacob is loved and will be missed by all of his close friends and family.

Visiting hours will be held in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 98 Bedford Street Bridgewater Tuesday from 10:30am until 12 noon. 

A graveside Service will follow the visiting hours in Scotland Cemetery, Bridgewater at 1:00pm. 

For those going directly to the Scotland Cemetery, please park at the Scotland Church 1000 Pleasant Street (Route 104). A funeral home represenative will be there to assist you.
