Jeanette L. Santos

1934 ∼ 2019

Jeanette L. Santos, 85, of Wareham, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late John Santos and daughter of the late John and Laura Lopes.

Jeanette was a proud owner of Jan’s Country Kitchen Restaurant with 3 locations in Wareham and Connecticut. She was a member of the Cape Verdean Relief Association and was enjoyed actively being involved in politics. She was also skilled in crocheting and loved to make blankets, especially for her family. She was also a wonderful cook and prepared delicious meals for her family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Jeanette is survived by 3 children, Deborah Montrond and husband Ceasar of Middleboro, Lorelei Alves of Providence, RI, Wilbey Calvin Sylvester of Wareham; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Gomes-Pope of West Wareham;  6 brothers and sisters, Jane Alexander, Minnie Roderick, Dianna Semedo, Irving “Tootsie” Russell, Bernadine Clay-Smith, Barbara Munson, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 2599 Cranberry Highway Wareham on Wednesday June 26, 2019 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home at 4:00pm. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
