Joanne P. Quinn El-Fayoumy

Joanne Quinn El-Fayoumy, 87, of Osterville passed away on June 11, 2018. Born October 7, 1930 In New York to Thomas and Helen (Foster)) Quinn. She was predeceased in 1989 by her beloved husband Saad G. El-Fayoumy. She received her BA in English from Barnard College and went on to complete a Master's degree from Columbia University where she met her husband to be. Her passion for the written word made her a popular professor at Norfolk State University in Virginia from 1967 to her retirement in 1988. Over the years she and Saad spent time living and traveling in Eqypt and the Sudan and had many adventures and made lifelong friends. Her home was filled with the many exotic pieces collected during that time. She will be greatly missed by many including cousins Kevin O'Neil (Paula), Michael O’Neil (Margaret) and goddaughter Erin O'Neil Konrad (Ernst) nephew Dr. Magdy El-Fayoumy of King of Prussia PA as well as many dear cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Thursday June 14, 2018 from 10 to 11AM in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, MA. A funeral service will follow at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mosswood Cemetery.
