Joanne Marie (Ryan) McCormack

July 10, 1931 – December 11, 2020

          Passed away Friday December 11,2020 peacefully at her home in South Yarmouth MA. Born in Weymouth MA, the daughter of Edward Ryan and Agnes (Donovan) Ryan. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty seven years John H. McCormack Jr.

         Joanne attended primary and secondary education at Sacred Heart school in Weymouth. She received her Bachelors Degree at Emanuel College in Boston and acquired her Masters in Education at Boston University. She taught briefly in Weymouth before raising her family in Braintree. When her family matured she went back to teach for many years in the Braintree school system.

         She and her husband Jack (John) retired permantly in 1992 to Yarmouth where they had a summer home for many years.

         Joanne was an avid reader and writer, who loved to travel with her husband. She loved music and a good party with friends. She was fiercely loyal to her family and provided them with unconditional love.

         Joanne also leaves behind her five children, John H.III and his wife Jean of Stoughton, Edward and his wife Wendy of Lakeville, Terrance and his wife Pamie of Raynham, Lauren Griffiths and her husband Thomas of Yarmouth and her daughter Jane of Kingston.

          Known as “Jody” to her nine grandchildren, she was the proud grandmother of Erin Griffiths Reneau and her husband Eric of Duxbury, Michaela McCormack of Wareham, Ryan Griffiths of Yarmouth, Thomas Griffiths Jr. and his wife Samantha of Yarmouth, Jack Goldberg of Simi Valley, California, Donovan McCormack of Raynham, Caroline McCormack of Raynham, Ethan Wager and his wife Felicia of Salem, NH, and Alicia Wager of Lakeville.

          She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Owen Pope of Wareham, and Henry Reneau and Emerson Reneau of Duxbury.Due to

          Covid a private service will be held.

          A Celebration of Life gathering with friends and family will be held at a later date.
