WAREHAM – John B. Dixon of Wareham, MA passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2017, at the age of 88. Born in Brockton, Jack grew up in Bourne and was the son of the late Donald and Hazel (Goodhue) Dixon. He is survived by his son, Bruce Dixon and his wife Cheryl of Boxborough; a daughter, Dorann Guba and her husband Steven of Acton; a brother, James Dixon of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Florence Prince of Bourne; 2 grandchildren, Eric and Curtis Guba.

Jack was a lucky man.  He lived a long and interesting life filled with many good friends and family.  He served in the Army during WWII and worked as a Fisheries manager for the Commonwealth of MA Department of Fish and Game until his retirement in 1991. While living in Boxborough he became a member of the Tahattawan Lodge of Masons in Littleton.  He was always actively helping his community and worked as a Herring Agent and volunteered at the Recycling Center for the Town of Wareham after retiring.  He was rarely separated from his Brittany spaniel.

He was a friend to all, a help to many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives & friends will gather in honor of Jack’s life during visiting hours from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

The environment was always near and dear to Jack.  In lieu of flowers please send donations in his memory to C.A.M.P., P.O. Box 803, East Wareham, MA 02538.
