John D. Lovendale

1946 ∼ 2018

FALMOUTH - John (Jack} Lovendale died peacefully in Falmouth on May 25 after a long battle with cancer. He was 71.

John is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nancy; children, Brian and Emily Tully of Pennsylvania; siblings, Paul Lovendale of Sandwich and Jan (Lovendale) Parker of Sun Lakes, Arizona; one granddaughter, two nieces, and four nephews.

John was born on October 1, 1946 in Portland, Maine to Marion and Herman Lovendale. He graduated from Falmouth High School, Falmouth, Maine in 1965. John served in the Maine National Guard and worked at the Portland Press Herald before moving to Cape Cod.  He married Nancy Cook in 1996 and they made their home in Falmouth.  After moving to Cape Cod, he began working for The Cape Cod Times as a pressman and retired from there in 2005.

John was a passionate guitar player and loved his home-built studio.  He loved the water and traveling the Intracoastal Waterway north from Florida each year.

A private memorial will be held in Maine. The family would like to thank the VNA and Falmouth hospital staff for the great care he received over the years.
