John E. Boyle

West Hyannisport – John E. Boyle died suddenly of a heart attack on March 27, 2020 at the age of 55.  He was born in Newton, MA in 1964 and moved to Cape Cod in 1972.  John was the son of Jean (Marrocco) Boyle and the late John M. Bole.  He is survived by three sisters:  Jennifer of West Yarmouth, Joanne of Florida, Judy of Cotuit and a large extended family.

John graduated from Barnstable High School and went on to Cape Cod Community College where he was on the Board of Trustees and received his Associates degree with high honors in Criminal Justice.  He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, also with high honors. 

Throughout college he worked at a group home for the developmentally disabled as an ADL Specialist.  In 1990 he became President of the Cape Cod Chapter of Massachusetts Citizens for Life.  John had a life-long devotion to the needs of the disabled and the rights of the unborn. 

In 1993 John was elected Town Councilor for the Town of Barnstable and served for six years.  He started several businesses during his lifetime and at the time of his death, he was sales representative for a pharmaceutical company.  His territory was the Philippines where he made many friends. 

John was a loving, giving son, brother and uncle and is deeply missed.  He will be remembered for his quick wit, his devotion to family and his deep Catholic faith.  Due to Covid-19, burial was private.  A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8th at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis, MA.
