EAST FALMOUTH--John Earl Chapman, “Jack,” was a loving husband and devoted father. Jack passed peacefully on December 27, 2017 at his home in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. He was 88 years old. Jack leaves his beloved wife Kathleen after 60 years together; and is survived by their four sons: Paul (Donna), Brian (Nancy), John (Vinita) and Bob (Lisa). Lovingly known as “Papa” to his wonderful grandchildren: Nick, Suzanne, Michael, Lauren, Kelsey, Jonathan, James, Andrew, David, Chase and Cassidy. Jack is survived by his younger brother Dick of Syracuse, NY, and was preceded in death by his sister, Vilma.

Born in Utica, NY to Roy and Rose (Natoli) Chapman, Jack graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Business Administration. He proudly served his country during the Korean War before going on to build a successful career with General Electric, retiring as an executive after 35 years of dedication. Jack and Kathleen were long-time residents of Westborough, MA where they raised their 4 boys, and Kathleen was a elementary school teacher. Well respected by his colleagues and community, Jack always demonstrated a keen business mind. He was a dedicated provider and reliable source of strength and support for his family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 4 PM the Chapman, Cole & Gleason funeral home in Mashpee, family and friends are invited to attend. The family is also planning an expanded memorial celebration of Jack’s life in mid-Spring 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MSPCA Animal Shelter of Centerville, MA (www.mspca.org), with the family’s gratitude and appreciation.
