John N. “Norm” Butler Jr.

John Norman Butler Jr. “Norm”, 72, of Centerville, passed away on August 8, 2018 with his loving wife by his side.

Norm was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts to John Norman Butler and Margaret Connors Butler on December 27, 1945. He attended Arch Bishop Williams High School and graduated from Providence College in 1967 where he played hockey and graduated with a BS in economics. He married Kathleen Sheila Butler (Sheila) on September 19, 1970 at Our Lady of Victory in Centerville. After working at Crosby Boat Yard for several years he began working for Kemper Insurance and later Arbella Insurance before retiring as an assistant clerk magistrate for Falmouth District Court.

Norm is survived by his wife Sheila Butler, his son’s John (wife Jodi), Mark (wife Nicole) and Matt (wife Lauren); grandchildren Keegan, Bobby, Cole, Maggie, Nico and Ruelle; sister Mary Ellen Fitzgerald and brother Shaun Butler.

Norm is preceded in death by his parents John Norman Butler, Margaret Connors Butler, brother William Butler and brother-in-law Bill Fitzgerald.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday Aug. 12, 2018 from 3-6PM in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Route 28, Marstons Mills, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St. Centerville. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Alzheimer’s Support Center of Cape Cod @ 2095 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.
