John P. Dami

John P. Dami, 74, of Mashpee, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on July 1, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Dami and son of the late Angelo Dami and Mary Borsari.

John graduated from Charlestown High School. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army and was proud to serve as a Mashpee Police officer, retiring after 40 years of outstanding service to his community.  He loved to travel, especially with his wife Deb and dedicated his life to his job and most of all, his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his wife Deb of 25 years, John is survived by his son Brian Costa and wife Jessica of Tucson, AZ, 2 brothers Richard Dami and wife Donna of Wellesley, Paul Borsari and wife Elizabeth of Brewster, 3 sisters Cecelia Healy of Bridgewater, Laura Maffeo of Weymouth, Margaret Mulhern of Westwood, his brother in-law Eric Hinxman and wife Cathleen of Plymouth, 3 grandchildren Caleb, Cameron, Corbin Costa, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee, on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 4PM to 8PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 at 10AM in the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mashpee Police Department 19 Frank E. Hicks Dr. Mashpee, MA 02649 in memory of John.
