John S. Georgopoulos

John S Georgopoulos 80, of North Falmouth Massachusetts, formerly of Watertown for 70 years passed away after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. John was an Army Veteran, a successful business owner, devoted Husband, Loving Father and Grand Father. He was a staple in the Greek community in Watertown. He received the honor of being the first altar boy for the Greek Orthodox Taxiarche Church in Watertown. Following his military service, he came home to work in the family business, Georgopoulos Trucking.

John’s most enjoyable moments were spent with his family and friends at Old Silver Beach in North Falmouth. He passed away at Falmouth Hospital on March 11, 2020. John was the son of the late Stephen and Georgia Georgopoulos. He leaves his wife of 58 years Patricia Castellano Georgopoulos, his son John S. Georgopoulos JR of Manchester NH, his daughter Georgia M. Galouzi of Everett, his son Peter A. Georgopoulos of Quincy, and son-in-law Elias Galouzis of West Roxbury. He also leaves behind his brother Peter Georgopoulos of Watertown, his sisters Demedria Keuchkarian of Watertown and Stacia Xerras of Peabody. He leaves behind 6 grandsons, John S. Georgopoulos the 3rd of Rumford, Maine, Stefanos Galouzis of Watertown, Ioannis Galouzis of Falmouth, Gino Georgopoulos of Manchester NH, Vinny Georgopoulos of Manchester NH , and Anthony Georgopoulos of Sagamore, along with 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

 Dad, you will always be my rock, my heart and my soul. 

 Your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever.

Visitation will take place March 17th 10:00am to 11:00am at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd, Centerville Ma. 02632. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the church. Burial will follow at 1:00pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA 02542.
